Advanced Acting Technique for Adults for TV & Film
In this course students study the craft of acting with an emphasis placed on developing and understanding the importance of being in the moment and discovering the best of who you are. Students will learn the fundamentals of a cold reading, how to slate, how to audition and how to deliver a compelling performance. Students will be introduced to some the basics of professional presentation skills with practical applications to the acting industry, the business world and to life. Each class includes training in relaxation technique, vocal care and Meisner repetition exercises*. The purpose of this course is to help each student gain confidence in themselves while conquering the challenges of being authentic and fusing acting skill with instinct, imagination and emotion. Scene StudyThis workshop is intended for students who are highly motivated in pursuing a film acting career. Students always audit one FREE class. Students will have to audition to participate in the Scene Study class. Students will learn how to deliver compelling and authentic performances. In this course students will learn how to analyze scripts, make powerful choices, explore authentic character development, believable relationships, motives, inner thoughts, back story, the moment before, emotional preparation, goals and the professional standards and expectations for acting in TV, commercial and film . This course requires a commitment to memorize scripts by the second class and to rehearse with scene partners outside of class. Improvisation Level 1

This first of 5 levels of improv training will focus on the basic components of improvisation. Topics will include the concept of yes, teamwork, confidence, listening, and above all fun. Level 2 The 2 Person Scene. Students will continue to explore the concepts set forth in level 1 through focus on basic 2 person scenes. Prerequisite Level 1 Level 3 Short Form Improv. Students will continue to examine 2 person scenes and expand to multi player scenes with an emphasis on short form game structures. Prerequisite Level 2 Level 4 Long Form Improv. Students will continue to focus on basic scene work through an exploration of long form improv structures. Prerequisite Level 3 Level 5 Improv Performance. Students, now acting as a troupe, will create their own ensemble piece for performance. The art of being a model, good posture, proper sitting, and how to walk gracefully. Students also learn how to pose for photo shoot. At the end of the 10th week, students will receive a certification of completion.
